Help me find a recent post about guide for bereaved on what next

In the last couple of months I saw a post on the blue or green about a detailed guide for people who had a relative die, about all the things you will have to do if you are responsible for making arrangements and tidying up as it were. I cannot find it. Can you? Really want to share it with someone who sadly very much needs it.

Idea: Require including TFA's author(s)/creator(s) in MeFi posts

Currently the posting guidelines don't mention including the author/creator in the FPP. This is not currently in the posting guidelines, but I think this could be really helpful for users make good decisions about which threads to participate in for a variety of reasons. Thoughts?

Posting cool jobs?

I’ve been looking for jobs on and off for the past three years, and have often come across roles that look amazing - for someone who is not me! Is there any appetite for allowing Jobs subsite posts that round up links of interesting jobs, or any other part of the site where sharing them would make sense?

Amazing list of curmudgeonly websites

There was an askme (I think) not too long ago, about websites that are amazingly specific, usually maintained by a cranky crank. It's where I found the sauce packet database for example... So many amazing links. Maybe even a link to a big website of other links. Somehow I seem to have lost it and I'm sad. Anyone remember and able to point me to the thread?

Updating crisis resource links, aka help for "There Is Help"

The Wiki's There Is Help page is a great service. It offers links for emergencies, mental health, grief, homelessness, general survival. But it was last updated in the summer of 2020.

combine channels?

I want a single chronological list of posts -- blue, askmefi, meta, fanfare, whatever -- all pouring down and intermingled in the order in which they were posted. Let me just select or clear a checkbox for each channel that's possible to include in the combined list. Can we do that? Would others be interested in browsing like that?

Share the Hidden-Gem Comments of 2023

Everyone needs a hug, especially those under-appreciated comments we liked so much last year. As seen previously: "Let's show some love for the hidden-gem comments that made you laugh, cry, or cheer [last] year, which you immediately recognized as genius, but somehow slipped under everyone else's radar. As is traditional, please try to stick to comments that received 12 or fewer favorites, and no self-links."

Slow for everyone? Or just me?

I've noticed that MetaFilter pages are coming up slower than usual for me, here on the east coast of the US. It's regularly taking between 2 and 18 seconds for content to show. This is isn't the case for my connection on other web sites. So, I ran some page load measuring tools that try to get a sense for how things load from various places in the world.

10th Annual MST Club Xmas Marathon!

This year we are holding our tenth annual (yikes) Christmas Video Marathon, at https://cytu.be/r/Metafilter_MST3KClub. The enormity of that number is not lost of us. From the noon (Eastern time) of December 22nd, and all through December 23, 24 and 25, that's 84 straight hours of irreverent Christmas comedy and specials, along with other fun things, all produced with the intent of giving you something to unwind to during stressful times. More information inside....
