I'm hoping to be able to carpool up from Santa Cruz, so if anyone wants to share a ride, let me know. There's also a small MoFi/Mefi meetup at 99 Bottles in Santa Cruz, 110 Walnut Ave, tonight (the 27th) at 7pm.

I took my Dad to Jupiter one time. After ordering food I asked for a beer. He ordered his trademark "Bourbon 7." The waitress said sorry, we only have wine and beer. He pounded his fist on the table and cried "What kind of a shitty place is this?" After she went off to spit in our food, I said Dad, don't do that, it's embarassing. His retort: "It's not embarassing!"

We laugh about it now.

BUT BE WARNED, MARTINI SIPPERS! THEY DON'T SERVE YOUR KIND THERE.

Sorry to crash the post, but I just wanted to say how jealous I am of everyone going to this meet-up. I was living in Berkeley up until October last year, and Jupiter was one of my favourite bars. Have a pint of Sunspot Gold for me!

The evil, evil California DMV didn't want to renew my California driver's license today (something about me not actually living in California, or even in the USA, I don't know) so the carpool idea still stands if someone else wants to drive. :)

I'm going to return tomorrow and argue some more.
