If anyone in the Seattle area needs a well-established Sourdough starter and is willing to come pick it up in the Southwest, me mail me and I’ll arrange to leave a container on my porch for you.
This is a thread for anyone who has too much of something to offer to give it away and too little of something to make requests.
If anyone in the SF bay area needs yeast, I've got quite a bit (I bought a 1lb brick after clearing out my fridge during a move in January) and would be happy to put some in a ziploc or something. No car so you might need to come to pick up, but if you're within a ~10mi radius of downtown Sunnyvale I would be happy to bike it over and get some exercise in the process!

I have some fabric ear loop face masks that I could mail within the US. They are unused/barely used (and I would wash them once more for good measure). There's nothing wrong with them, I just found a style that works better for my particular face.
For local contactless pickup if anyone is in the Long Beach, CA area- I'm moving and have some plants (succulents) that probably won't get enough sun at the new place. And gardening supplies - chicken wire and some plastic nursery pots.
I also have an old sewing machine that could use a good home.

* If you can fit into 30/31" waist 30/31" inseam jeans, I have a stack (at least one still has tags) that I'll never fit into again. Or you just want some denim for crafting. I have a bunch of old clothes for 5'7" 150# size if you just want fabric. They've been sitting around in trash bags for ages or the eventual Goodwill run.
* Do you want a Wii/Fit and a couple of games? Used for the 6 months nephews were young enough to play Mario Kart with uncle before going all X-Box on me. Some DS games floating around as well.
* Wanna swap a small InstaPot thing for a big InstaPot thing?
* Make candy? A whole shoebox full of FlavorArt 8ml samples.
Probably not to helpful unless you need some pants.

* If you need portable file storage cases, I have one plastic box with a handle, kind of like this one, and three cardboard expanding ones, also with handles; two are a pretty decorative style, but the pockets are big enough to hold legal-size sheets, and one is more utilitarian, and also has organizational categories preprinted on the tabs ("Insurance", "bills", "taxes", etc.).
* I also have a small portable charcoal grill to offer that looks kind of like this. Never used.
* Depending on how good I get at it, I may also be able to start offering handmade simple notebooks. (I am trying to do something with the backlog of pretty paper that I bought over the past ten years because "I think I'll be able to do something with it someday", and this is all I can think to do.) Will advise when I have some.
* I'm looking for: wall frames suitable for single photos, both snapshots and 5x7 inch ones, preferably without a mat, in any color and any condition. And I do mean any condition - I was going to be hitting up a junk shop for this project right before the world caught on fire; I'm deliberately hoping for a non-matchy-shabby-chic look.
* I could also use generic random crafting supplies, like adhesives, glues, paints, cutting tools, spray varnish...I'm also tentatively willing to accept washi tape, depending on the design.

* I have a couple of rubber stamps mounted on wood that I can also offer - they should have a bit of a clean, but still work. Designs include: a teddy bear, a unicorn, a couple butterflies, the word "Menu", the word "Recipe", and the quote "If this gets into the hands of the Russians, it's curtains for the free world."
* I also have some stamp pads in random colors that are running low on ink but may probably be refill-able? I think?

If anyone in or adjacent to the NW Chicago 'burbs needs masks let us know. We'll put some on our porch for you.
Comrade Doll has been making them constantly since being furloughed and while she's now giving most of them to an area group home, we have some to spare. Nothing needed in return, though if you have any quilting fabric or elastic to spare, that would help keep the assembly line going.

Upper West Side, NYC:
I have a surplus of drought tolerant flower seeds I saved from my rooftop garden last year cosmos, yellow and orange marigolds and Blanket flower plants (all mixed up in a flower mix- i didn't think to separate them out, so them's the breaks). I also have an excess of cinnamon basil seeds (not to my taste), and mini bell pepper seeds.
I also have sourdough starter: I've been making it since before it was cool.
I don't particularly need anything right now. I can't really go anyplace to deliver it, but happy to hand off seeds or starter on the stoop.

I have a gazillion seed beads, kind of organized, in case anyone has a teenager (or whoever! Kids! Adults! Seniors!) who could use a craft for the summer.
I also have leftover bean (pole and bush) and pea seeds if anyone's keen on starting them for fall. My spider plant is going nuts so I have spider plant babies.
I'm looking for paint supplies (like, painting pictures on a canvas, not painting walls) and a sourdough starter. I'm in NE Mpls and would be cool with a front stoop hand off. And I'll keep an eye on this thread for needs of other Twin Citians...we have all sorts of stuff in the basement that I'm not even thinking of. Anyone want 300,000 baseball cards??? (just kidding, Herr Duck would be devastated if even one disappeared).

I don't have an absolute ton of seeds or especially exotic seeds, but I'm happy to offer a few starter packages of warm-weather vegetables (tomato, pepper, eggplant, cucumber, summer squash, pollinator-friendly flowers) to new or cash-strapped gardeners. Also happy to do some swaps with anyone who's bored with what they've got and like mail. (Particularly if you like a challenge - I've got some eggplant and tomato seeds I've had a terrible time getting to germinate or make it all the way to true leaves.)
I just ordered a pound of yeast and can spare some, assuming I actually get it. LA/SFV area.

I have been thinking about posting something like this and have not done it, thank you bq. I have (almost?) all the random herbs and spices (and a few other lightweight things) in the recipes you might have been salivating over. Curry leaf, Szechuan pepper, sodium citrate, mustard powder, ajowan, blade mace...
Not gonna lie, my spice cabinet smells amazing, but it's quite a bit of volume to get through when you add it all up. Some of it is probably expired, but I would check before sending, or just send it anyway and let you decide :)
I'll figure out a way to get a packet to you in the mail if you've been thinking about a recipe and just need that little something. Can we keep this thread for by-mail swapping?

Pittsburgh: My fiance and I are packing to move to our new (owned!) house, and we are getting rid of a lot of furniture, chairs, clothes, bookshelves, etc. If you need anything, Pittsburgh, just ask and if it's not kid-related I likely have it or I will help you get it. (If it's kid-related, I'll help you get it, but I definitely don't have it.)
If you have thoughts about places in Pittsburgh that are accepting donations like these (unfortunately the ReStore seems to be not accepting donations right now and that was our original plan), we'd love to have those suggestions too.

Oakland:
We have yeast to share, thanks to tavella's earlier generosity. Can drop it off anywhere roughly between downtown and Fruitvale, or if you want to stop by we can do a distanced exchange.
Do you want a nice drop-leaf table with insertable panels to accommodate more people? If you can come pick it up we'll bring it down to the corner. I have happy childhood memories of 8+ people eating Thanksgiving dinner around this table, but we live in a 1-bedroom apartment and haven't had 8 people over to visit ever.
As far as what we could use, if anyone local has a scoby to spare, that would be awesome. (We're home, let's start fermenting our own kombucha instead of buying it.)
And if anyone has any curry leaves to spare — or, daring to dream, a plant seeding — I would be so thankful. Somebody not me (ahem!) got overzealous cleaning the freezer and threw out all my painstakingly individually shrink-sealed packages of leaves, to my dismay.

I actually stopped making masks due to lack of interest. I could start again, as I still have more material. I make the pleated kind, with a pocket for a filter and a nose wire. Washable but the nose wire needs rebending after. I’ve made some for kids (as young as 3); don’t have any of those right now but I can make them. Memail me if you’re in need; I’m in PHX but can mail.

If anyone in the PDX area has some livestock panels or something that I could use to protect a 4x4 raised bed from critters, I would surely appreciate it. This is the first garden I've had other than a small container garden and I think I'll be heartbroken if it's destroyed by hungry animals or naughty neighborhood cats.
I'll take a look around and see what I could offer!
