Can I repost this project because of new link? September 30, 2006 10:56 AM   Subscribe

I posted a short film I made to Projects but hours after I did, the site hosting it took the video offline. It's back up with a new URL http://www.gamevideos.com/video/id/6370 but I can't edit my old project post nor can I repost it. I had no control over the hosting site and this video is for a contest where only the 10 most popular films move on to the next round. Voting ends October 10. Would it be possible to repost to Projects?

Is there any way to bump it up/switch it to a project listed today? I'm afraid no one will see it when it is so far down, especially with the feedback saying the other people can't see it.

The feedback isn't publicly visible.

I can't do it, though maybe mathowie can?

Nope, sorry. It is where it is.

Changing the URL made it show up in bloglines again. So it will get some new exposure.

Not to mention its convenient placement at the top of the metatalk page...

Thanks for the help. The competition is very fierce and it's hard to stay in the top ten. Also, if you've ever playe dungeons and dragons, you should give my film a look. :)

You'll do fine, provided you make your saving throw.

Now that clockworkjoe has promoted his film on ask and here, lets see if he goes for the trifecta with a fpp.

Why stop there? He can then write a song about his film. Then he can post a job for watching his film.

Thanks, SKSP. I'm now going to spend the rest of the goddam weekend puzzling over a single string of text that could represent six equally valid but functionally appropriate posts to the six subsites.

"Want to check out?"

(You can do your puzzling over what the links should be...)

Just how wrong is this?

Hey that video finally loaded. I found it banal and ranklesom, with a tedious arc-free plot and poor lighting.

Yeah, but the very last shot of the lizard thingy trying to eat the miniature was pretty funny.

Why it's simple cortex, all you need is a job to be done.

Once you advertise that job, you can ask mefi what to do about the poor worker you hired.

Acting upon your own answer to your own question, you then write and perform a song ridiculing your new employee.

This will be followed by a blog posted to projects, detailing the grizzly legal affair that follows.

Not satisfied with the exposure, you then self-link your second blog, which contains rants about Mefites lack of legal awareness or concern, to the blue.

The circle is complete once you call yourself out for self-linking on the grey.

(For extra points, discuss the events at Metachat)
