Meetup in Central Europe (Sept. 2006)

Central Europe Meetup? Long shot I guess but do we A, have a critical mass of folk in the area and B, who'd be interested?

I’ve not seen any previous ones posted so guessing that I’m fairly stranded far from any Mefites at present but would be good to be proved wrong. Anyone up for Brno, Prague, Vienna, Bratislava etc? I’m in Brno (Czech) but up for travelling if we have a few and consensus of folk up for Meetup in Poland, Hungary, Slovakia etc? Any precedents?

Man, why couldn't this have happened about 3 or 4 months ago? I was living in Prague then for the semester.

Oh I did. Brno was great fun while I was there as well. The wheel and dragon were confusing/lovely.

I'm in Lyon, France for ~6 months, and am enthusiastically seeking ideas/excuses for weekend trips across Europe, so anything that sounds like it could be one of them would be cool.

Cool amberglow, e-mailed Ljubljana as you suggested with the link to this (he rather than she). E-mail in profile if you firm up plans early next year.

Xanthippe may not be around as far as Jan/Feb so looks like the numbers will be small.

Jacalta, you're name is in your profile so I wil get in touch if I hear anything from Ljubljana off the page (you too Xanthippe). I've had an inrush of friends and family booking weekends to visit here up until Christmas so probably be new year before I can do anything.

Looks as though it will be a small affair no matter when we plan it.

Thanks for alerting me, Gratishades. Well, I'm here in Budapest, I know a lot of pub owners personally if you want to meet here. Traveling... depends on when and where... maybe you should try and time it with some external event that makes the trip worth taking.

I'm probably off to the Peasant Fair in Negreni (Fekete To Vasar) this coming weekend in Romania.... kind of like a meetup for people with lots to talk about about sheep.
