Is it proper ettiquete to request topics for FFPs? I would like one on Ettore Majorana and also one on Federico García Lorca, the opera Ainadamar, deep song...

Would it be a dupe to post about Ettore Majorana? He was mentioned in the Perelman comments. I completely missed that and didn't find it until after doing a search for him. The comment doesn't link to this paper mentioned in the New Scientist article. free paper, in contrast to the premium New Scientist article. (damn me and my subscription to New Scientist. the coolest articles are premium only and I cannot share them.)
After seeing Ainadamar recently, I'd love to read a post about Golijov (a modern opera composer), flamenco, Lorca, cantoars, deep song, and the Spanish Civil War--I even started collecting links about them (well, to be honest, I have a bilingual collection of Lorca's poetry, so it is not a recent passion to collect information on this) and would love an expert to talk about flamenco and point to sites with free examples of different styles. I've only found one. And people here know much more about music than I do.

I somehow think SeizeTheDay is right. If you can perhaps re-word what you have written here and make it a bit more succinct as to what subjects you hope to find sites/more info about then it would be a fine AskMetafilter question.

bleary, usually people do add more links and info inside posts, so i'd just post anyway with the best of what you have, or with 1 good intro link (and if it's music, with linked samples of it too).
We're not writing encyclopedias here or exhaustive examinations, but sharing interesting stuff that's online.

Granted, but there are a number of us here who regularly make posts after we discover a topic we love, enjoy exploring for ourselves what's currently available online about that topic, and then share what we found in a semi-exhaustive post.
Just wanted to note there's nothing wrong with that style of MeFi posting. The key, though, is finding something that truly excites you. I'm not sure taking on someone else's topic as a project for posting would have the same effect.
