I made a comment on the Fannibal thread, then after a while I removed it from my Recent Activity. I just made another comment there yet the post isn't showing up on Recent Activity again. Bug or feature? (I've done the clearing cookies and logging in/out thing, no dice. On Dolphin for Android.) [more inside]

I fairly often come across links in comments where people clearly intended to link to to a page elsewhere, but their link is to the very thread they are commenting on. For example chrchr clearly intended to link to the show The Americans at some other page, perhaps Wikipedia or IMDB. Are people confused how to create a link? Is there are bug changing some submitted links into the link to the thread after they submit their comment?

The RSS feed for the blue hasn't updated since the post at 4:41 this morning (ET), and the Ask MetaFilter RSS feed hasn't updated since 3:27 this morning. Am I the only one seeing this?

More and more I find myself visiting Metafilter on my Android tablet. I am using Firefox 25.0.1 on a Nexus 7 with Android 4.3. Recently, commenting has become almost impossible - namely, any kind of HTML tags get very screwed up. Typically, I'll copy a comment I want to reply to, surround that with em tags and then reply. Lately, in the process of posting, Android or Firefox or Metafilter decides to empty the closing em tag (leaving two carats) and append a set of empty carats and a closing em tag to my whole post. Trying to clean it up leads to all kinds of problems - the cursor jumps around and deletes things on its own. Has anyone else experienced this? Is it Android, Firefox, Metafilter, or some combination of all three? Any help would be appreciated.

Daylight saving time is coming to end in Europe tonight. It is not coming to end in the US until next week. I have "use secure browsing" enabled (I can see the checkmark), but metafilter is not using SSL on all of my computers. For example, it's enabled on my iPhone but not on Safari. However, the checkmark is there in both places. [more inside]

Starting this morning, I have seen sporadic ads in the lower right-hand corner of the screen while reading posts on MeFi and Ask, even while logged in. They display first as a grey and orange bar, like so; when I hover over the bar, it expands into a set of ads (for "coupons" nominally linked to keywords in the post). Have I been hit with spyware, or is this happening to others? (I am running Chrome on Windows 7; this is definitely not a browser extension I have installed.)

Shortly after the update on the heart attack thread on Ask (dx severe heartburn), the words on Ask only got hugely tiny. Talk & FP are fine. Chrome browser, iOs6.x, recent ish phone.
