and matteo was right. Milano's much more fun and entertaining than all of you roma-praising milano-haters were willing to let on.

Ooh! Thanks for the virtual ass and Pellegrino shoutouts! Next, I think I'd like to try... a nice Tuscan red with a side order of lightly toasted Italian buns.

amberglow, are you sitting down, vertically challenged like me, or is nostro caro matteo really a famous Italian basketball player wishing to remain anonymous?

ciao tutti!!! I'm baaack--did ya miss me?
I had an incredible incredible time, and matteo is just as cool and nice and smart as he appears to be here (he's no Cynthia though! give her another kiss and hug from me)
Molti grazie a matteo, cactus (for a double meet) and Cynthia (and la Befana, of course!)
and i missed you, romakimmy! (i was sitting in that pic, but am a little short--matteo's american-sized height-wise tho, especially for an italian)
of course, i just came home to no heat/hotwater in my apt. : >

indeed he was kimmy. and I am not particularly tall, un metro e ottantotto.
not to mention size doesn't matter, does it kim?
;)
Italy just loves amberglow and he will be moving soon here. now, if we convince dejah and a few others to move here too, we could have a massive, influential MeFi chapter in this country. and we'll give Haughey (and Haughey jr) an honorary citizenship as well. even if he'd rather visit ice cubes in Iceland than us.

You're back, amberglow? Well. That explains it!
It was like the lights came back on here in New York -- so glad you made it!
Thanks for the shoutout, and for the pics. You looked pretty caroused and properly pampered.
My jealousy at your trip is palpable. May your jet lag and hangovers be mercifully short.

thanks! a whole new wardrobe, an emptied bank account, stunning things (art, people, churches, food, etc) and got to meet matteo in real life--what could be better? it really was wonderful.
We really have to get matteo here and have a meetup for him.

I still take great pride in being among the select few that have met both matteo and romakimmy. (IIRC, TCS and I were the only two to make both meetups...). Now cactus has to come to Dallas for the italian trifecta.
Looks like you all had a blast, though. And thanks for the love as always, matteo!

Ufez, I'm so there - write me down for the summer of 2006 - that's when I'll likely move back to the states. :)
And happy birthday, Kimmy!

Back in Milano, well known for it's high fashion, Amberglow proved himself equally at ease navigating through both museums and forests. The truth about Matteo's profession came out when we discovered he owns a posh furniture store.
We spent Saturday evening at G Lounge, one of the trendiest "gay friendly" bars in Milano. The boys looked so fabulous even I was staring at them. We also paid fabulous prices for it. Three rounds of drinks for three people clocked in at 90 Euros.
If you thought matteo was camera shy, maybe you can make out his face in this reflection in the glass window where he took us for lunch at Ristorante Ilia Sunday afternoon. That's not the only thing difficult to see. A little focus would've helped. That text next to the 5$ Noobs shoutout says "That's Me ->"
And finally, despite the fact that there's now a McDonald's in Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, there are signs that globalization hasn't completely taken hold of Italia - they still can't spell.
Ciao belli!
