In the last month: Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush (George H.), Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush (Jeb), Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush, Bush. Obsessed?
that's a lot of bush.

I'm confused about who's obsessed. But I agree that too many posts about the Bush family do not enhance MeFi for me. I also know that a lot of members feel very strongly about them (as do I) and expect that posts of this nature will continue as long as W is in office.

I'm obsessed with our obsession with questions.
Can this representation of his views be accurate?
Did Bush know?
If Bush or Powell or Rumsfeld are proven to have been knowingly deceitful, will the American public be even half as angry as the rest of the world?
Isn't it lovely?
Does TDE or "supply side" economics actually work?
Who's the only man who can take on President George W. Bush in a debate?
So are there WMDs in Iraq or not?
...
Obsessed?

Politics is important, and we live in a politically charged time, so some of this can be forgiven. I wish the discussions were less vituperative, though. Half those threads are the usual suspects lining up to give each other the not-so-secret anti-Bush asspat.

That might be overstating things just the teensiest bit. Aren't we forgetting Richard Nixon, Woodrow Wilson, Jimmy Carter (matter of opinion, and not entirely his fault, but times were tough then, hoss), two world wars and several little ones including Vietnam...
Relatively recent history is rife with times worse than these. Most of the people here just don't remember or haven't read or heard about them.

Who needs 10 pages? Bush had been the man in charge for 9 months (give or take) before 9/11, and that was the biggest foreign relations disaster for the US ever. Therefore, he and administration are responsible. ;-P

Like we say in the Midwest, "Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain."
MeFii-ers need to "identify their obsessions as senseless and their rituals as useless and distressing."
Of course, "oppositional defiant disorder ... makes compliance with treatment more difficult."

"I know that I don't appreciate the leaders who work hard to meet my needs. It is often so easy to get critical instead of encouraging them on what they are doing right. I really want to change that ...
"I think about my emotional needs. God, you are fully aware of my depression, obsessive-compulsiveness, my ADHD. I often struggle with seeing that these can be good things. I'm learning to accept the ADHD, but I guess I have difficulty seeing how depression and obsessive-compulsiveness can be good."
Is there a neurotic, often-hilarious obsession with Bush at MeFi?
Absolutely.
Is it justified?
Probably.
Does it reflect, even in the vaguest sense, what the purpose of MeFi is supposed to be?
Nope.
Do any of the posts mentioned by timeistight ever devolve into tedious circle-jerks?
Bring a mop.
Are the FPPs bringing anything new to the table?
Only if you don't read the news.
Is Bush's presidential term the "biggest disaster to befall america since the civil war"?
Only if you haven't cracked a history book.
Doesn't this question/answer format I'm using get annoying?
Oh yes.
