after a few emails back and forth the mod, Josh, said
For some random user with no pattern of behavior, obnoxious might not push it over the threshold, no. You are not some random user with no pattern of behavior on this. We have warned you to cut this shit out if you want to continue being; I am not going to go into detail with you on it again. Just knock it off.
regarding my comment in this thread.
more below the fold.
here's my comment. the first part was deleted, and then i posted it again because i thought it might have been deleted because it was too flippant, and if i provided more context they'd let it stand:
what was wrong with this comment?
Expecting a drink that's not watered down, without an extraordinary wait seems perfectly fair to me.
this is female privilege.
[the comment above was deleted without explanation, i'll try to give more context.]
my experiences at many bars have been poor service, and when ordering cocktails, watered down drinks. at a bar everyone's money is worth the same, but if you're more attractive you'll get served quicker and get a stronger drink in a (at least subconscious) effort by the bar tender to get the client to like them. if we assume that most bar tenders are male, and since the vast majority of men are straight, this would mean women have a privilege in that respect.
you may not like the fact that your favorite minority group has at least one privilege, but the fact still remains.
i sent a message using the contact form, and got this response:
It was an obnoxious "yeah, well, women get away with some stuff too" sidebar. You have a history of injecting obnoxious "yeah, well, what about..." sidebars into threads. We've talked to you about this stuff a ton. Don't do it.
Josh
to which i replied:
since when has "obnoxious" been grounds to delete comments? my comment was a lot more substantive than "yeah, well, women get away with some stuff too". was it actually flagged? or is it just a mod thing?
and then he said the thing above the fold.
you all have different views than me about substantive all the time, but could we all agree that comments should be deleted or not based on the content of the actual post/comment?

This is true. You have made yourself a clear personality with an axe to grind on these issues and I don't think it's unreasonable that the mods no longer give you the benefit of the doubt.
In the "benefit of the doubt" vein, MetaTalk is not really a place for you to come and post all your comments just because you don't like that they were deleted. The question you asked, "you all have different views than me about substantive all the time, but could we all agree that comments should be deleted or not based on the content of the actual post/comment?" doesn't really seem like it's in good faith when you've taken this as an opportunity to post the whole exchange, including your deleted comments. If that's your question, that's your question. Keep it to that. To answer it:
There is context as well as content here. The context is "you have been told to knock this off. You have not done it. Please knock it off. You know better." Given that context, yeah, I'm okay with borderline stuff being deleted if it's posted by a user with a known and problematic history.

Comments are a part of a conversation. The mods are moderating the entire conversation. The different subsites have different conversational conventions, but user behavior overall seems like a pretty constant thing that all of the mods consider. This does not seem like a new revelation to me in the least.

Sorry, no. We've spoken to you in the past about specifically not becoming an axe-grinder for your particular pet topics and it doesn't seem to be going so well. We've spoken to you also about you using MetaTalk as a way to get your deleted comments more airtime after we've deleted them and spoken to you at length about them over email. That's not going to work here anymore. Please do not do that here anymore. If you want to post a more general MeTa thread about this general issue without turning it into a showcase for your deleted comments, please feel free, but this is an abuse of MetaTalk and one you've engaged in multiple times in the past and we're done here.
