Better dead than Redd! Reddshit, not threadshit! August 21, 2013 12:59 AM   Subscribe

I was quite surprised when I realized that this absolutely brilliant comment hadn't been sidebarred.

I thought it was interesting, given the MetaFilter consensus that Reddit is "a toilet," to put it nicely, that Greg Nog made MetaFilter ITSELF become Best of the Web. In the other thread, many people expressed the opinion that it was this very comment that made the entire Reddit post worthwhile.
Is there some kind of "professional courtesy" thing going on here?
I always described Reddit as "Metafilter, but with sexists, racists and pedophiles." Are the creators of our website not as keen on the shit talking as the users are? How does the community feel about all this? How does the community of mods feel?

I've read this twice and just feel dumb. What's the question?

If this is a question about what goes on the sidebar, go ahead and contact us via the contact form. If this something about Reddit, you can add that to the thread already in progress.
