In a film,a teacher says to a student who is going to fight with a classmate.
"Tidd! You take one more step and you'll think you were born in detention. Get back to your seat." What does "born in detention" mean? I googled it and I only found some articles like,"Uncertain future awaits babies born in detention.." So is this a sort of exaggerated expression of "being detained"?
