So much love, and I don't know what to do with it! June 19, 2013 5:37 AM Subscribe
Can you help me find a comment, or a thread, or a comment in a thread (!) about not knowing what to do when you're so overwhelmed with good feelings (mostly love) and you just don't know what to do with it?
I have been trying to find a question posted to the green for a while now, but I am not sure if the question was about "what do I do with all of these good feelings" or if I am just remembering one specific comment in a thread. I remember a comment about art, I think, and art being what you do when you are just feeling it, and you don't know what else to do to express it. I think the comment was in response to others, and it was kind of defensive, saying that it's okay to be completely overwhelmed with good feelings/love and to use art to express it.
I wanted to post a question asking what you do when you're just completely overwhelmed in a good way, and you have no idea how to handle it (what do you do with that good, warm/fuzzy, "full" feeling!?) but I think something similar has been asked. I can't find it though, and it's driving me bananas.
Any help?

No, k8lin, that's not the one - but it's an interesting read. Thanks!

It sounds extremely vaguely like something I said. (But it was not about positive feelings. It was about being unable to let go of an old flame and get over it.)

None of these so far. I realize my question is a bit vague but I can't remember what the question on the green was, and it's tough to search. The more I think of it, I think it was a comment that sort of went against what everyone else was answering in the thread. It was something about letting yourself feel things and experience them, and I think it mentioned making art because of those positive feelings...

This is a long shot, as the question is more geared toward kids and their reactions, but the answers skew more toward grown-ups explaining how they're often moved to tears by art/music.

Yup, that intensity has fueled many, many writings and poems and whatnot. Go with it, however you express yourself, use that to channel the feelings.
Play music loud and dance. Write horrible fanfic. Write a poem. Compose an etude. Paint a picture.
Find an artistic mechanism and fuel your creativity with these exquisite feelings.

I kind of remembered this answer from this post and thought it might be the one, but reading the thread again I don't think it's what you're looking for.
If no one can find it does that mean you get to go ahead and ask your question? I think I might like to read the answers.

Thanks for the answers, everyone. It's possible I am misremembering a post or comment. I'm kicking myself for not favourite'ing it though...
billiebee: I'll link to it if I can get the words right for a question :)
