Saying "Wouldn't it be funny if..." near a crowded theatre?
I'd like to ask the mods to delete my comment here so that I can re-post it without the lines marked **.
What I discussed there is harmless, intended as a joke, something I would never do, and I don't think anyone here would have the combination of organisational skills and stupidity required to try it. However, I don't think it's an idea belongs on metafilter. On the one in a million chance that someone tried that prank, metafilter would not want to be associated with it. In retrospect, I regret posting it.
Why regret? Although both Occupy Vancouver and the VPD have been considerate and peaceful the situation is a powderkeg. If even paramedics rushing in can make things tense, so could merry pranksters.
Scenario A:
Occupy Vancouver Members see that they are being charged by...someone. Remember that it's dark and that most people can't see what's happening. They adopt a nonviolent arms linked stance. Some yahoo on one side or the other throws a punch. Riot? Something bad happens. Hospitalizations possible.
Scenario B:
Thinking himself fully justified in doing so, a counter-protestor starts to remove a tent. Someone shouts at him. The VPD intervene, and someone thinks they are attacking, at night, to take down tents. Something bad happens. Hospitalizations possible.
Mods, even if you think it's a harmless remark, I don't. I'd appreciate it if you took it down.
