Dear askme: there's a big shard of glass in my foot, and it hurts like the dickens when I walk. How can I stop the pain?
PS DO NOT TELL ME TO REMOVE THE GLASS SHARD

There is no such thing as a difficult period in Askme relationship advice. It's either true love or DTMA.

Not this again.
It's perfectly okay to provide answers that (a) don't necessarily answer the specific question asked and/or (b) go against what the asker specifically says they want, so long as those answers are respectful and above all HELPFUL. Several people are doing just that in the OP. This doesn't need to be here.

It's fine to make a MeTa, but we the community ask that you articulate the problem you see, as opposed to just feeling the need to share.

DTMA?
I had no idea Benjamin Braddock was on AskMe.
What field should I go into?

I'm going to close this up. MeTa is really for things that you want to talk over for the community, not an alternative soapbox for things you're not supposed to say in AskMe or MeFi.
