South Florida Meetup

South Florida Meetup - Miami, Ft. Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, Naples, etc...

Attempted to organize a South Florida Meetup back in 2007 and 2008, but they never happened :-(

Please post which day is most convenient and also recommend a place to meet up.

Vote on one of the following days:

Thursday, February 18th
Friday, February 19th
Saturday, February 20th
Sunday, February 21st

As for place; vote for a general location and/or a specific place

All ages welcome; I'm 25...

I'll put in my suggestion: Dania Jai-Alai Free Admission! and any day is good for me!

If you need eats and don't have vegetarians/ vegans coming, I can't recommend Park Avenue Ribs in Wellington enough. Best ribs I've ever had.

Alas, I will not be able to come share them in person, as I'm employed and can't just fuck off to the in-laws' place.

Oh sweet mercy jai-alai. Attention everyone in South Florida: GO TO THIS MEETUP, particularly if you've never seen jai-alai before. I loved going to jai-alai in Ocala so much when I was in college.

Why did they close the fronton in Tampa? Why? Alas I was born too late.

My god, we floridians are a pain to wrangle.

I have a bachelorette party to attend in key west at some point in February. Bride has not told me which weekend.

I'll meetup if I can, but I'm no help in date selection.

The bachelorette party is Feb 26-27. Which leaves the weekend before totally clear. Yay.

So, for me. Yes to Jai Alai. No to Friday and Sunday.

I can swing the 18th, so shall we call it that? Now, for the love of all that is, somebody pick a time. (keeping in mind that jai alai has a schedule and I'm too busy at work today to look it up. I've spent an hour composing this and one AskMe response today.)

Sounds good! We've got 3 possibles down including me already; 'JustKeepSwimming' and 'bilabial'

Since we are aiming for Thursday, February 18th already, how does Wednesday, February 17th sound? Wednesdays are $.99 Hot Dog and Fries; Soft Drinks; Beer; Wings; etc...

Live Jai-Alai starts at 7:00PM so here are the two choices to vote on;

or
Thursday, February, 18th @ 6:30PM

Hi all. I'm in Key West. And I'm vegetarian. I mean, OF COURSE I am. This IS Mefi!

Anyhow, like I said, I'm in Key West. And it's time we had a meet-up here. Because Dania is cool and all, but...

...ha ha. Okay, ANYHOW, count me in. It's time we cultivate this territory. And if I me don't represent, who am do I expect to?

(By the way, I'm from here. But around age 5-8 Tampa Jai-Alai played a big part of my life. (I was in St. Petersburg, before it got old then cool again. Good times!)

Looking forward to this. BTW, whenever in Key West, look up humannaire. It will be worth you while.

Sounds good to me. Never been to the Dania Jai-Alai although I've lived down here for more than 10 years! The only problem for me will be remembering the date, since it's a month away. I'll probably need to setup some date reminder on my gmail.

I'm here inside the door. Have said to two 20 something guys, "Metafilter?" This place is too big for me to really search for a small group.

I should have asked for specifics about were we'd meet, cause I've been here 20 minutes and I'm wondering if metafilter is standing me up.
