Two issues with "recent activities" the Secret Quonsar post no longer shows up in my recent activities page. It used to and I think the behavior changed when the thread was changed to a meet-up style thread. Also the favorite interface shows up by each comment in recent activity, but not the flag interface. Is this by design?
If it isn't it should be. You shouldn't be able to flag something without context.
Good point. I don't really flag much, but it seemed odd.

Hmm, the hope was to make that post show up for longer by changing it to a meetup style post. I'll have pb take a look at it when he gets up.

Do you really think it can wait?

Also, while I've got y'all here, what's the "Popular" link on the top of the front page between "tags" and "search" supposed to do? I'd never clicked on it before, but just now I got an Error: File Not Found.

We only recently upped the time that a meetup-related metatalk post is open, and haven't carried over that change to the recent activity page (for just metatalk posts in one category).
So it fell off that page because it's over 30 days old now and the script isn't looking back any further to save processing resources. We'll look into tweaking it to allow meetup threads to keep showing up on recent activity soon.

How about the flags? Was that a design decision or an accident?

I feel pretty much like it doesn't make sense to have flaggability as an option on a favorites page. Go click through, read the post/comments, see if you still feel the same way, then flag.

So this is why my MetaTalk alarm clock was going off this morning. Recent Activity should now be picking up threads in the MetaFilter gatherings category for the full time they're open.
