I think the learning disabilities aspect of one of them makes the slightly different questions. The bar is pretty high for doubles in AskMe, something will have to pretty much be a duplicate for us to remove it.

Some kids will take book bags and wrap the straps around their necks and twist the straps until it cuts off their air and they pass out. They do it to get high. Kids are stupid and should be kept off areas in the front of my home whereupon grass grows.

However, if this kid is into wrapping his book bag straps around his neck to cut off his air supply and make himself pass out in an effort to get high, then I think that he will be limited in the number of careers that he will be suitable for.

I found a clip somewhere that showed a bunch of cute young things pressing each other's carotid arteries until they collapsed onto the floor. It was a sleepover or something.

I like a cute passed-out teenage hottie as much as the next deviant, but, still...it's weird. Is this something kids do these days? Is this something I can leverage next time I'm suffering from insomnia?

Girls used to do that when I was in junior high a long time ago, but they'd hyperventilate and then exhale forcefully and do it, I think. I didn't quite get the appeal but it was really something to watch.

The OP, if you look in his history, is a childless immigrant and he and his wife aren't sure if they want kids. It was suggested to him to mentor one. Give him a break.

We used to hyperventilate and then hold our breath, pass out, usually on the stairs. I can't remember why. Then I discovered how easy it was to steal ether from the Chemistry Lab and gave up hard work unconsciousness.

I thought redundancy was appreciated in AskMe. As long as jessamyn and/or the rest of the mod squad are making sure a question is findable in the archives, deleting an exact duplicate makes sense. Variance, on the other hand, however slight is welcomed as More Help. This would not hold for MetaFilter proper, of course, as the guidelines for and definition of A Double Post are different there. Call out MeFi dupes all you want, but let the shades of green go and wonder at the accumulated wisdom.

Oh, hey, aside from all that, use the fucking double post flag.
