mefi weirdness. I can't seem to comment on the blue. The site shows me as logged in, but every time I hit post on a comment (within the past 5 minutes. it's been fine till now) I get sent to a login screen. And if I login, and then try to post again, I go back to the login screen again. Opera 9.10 on OSX. Is this happening to anyone else? Posting on the gray is fine.
Huh. I just got email from someone else seeing this too. Firing up Mattsignal now.

Same here, I was just about to post this. I'm using FF 2 on Win XP. The first time it happened, my preferences also got reset (or at least the plain theme went away). I tried logging out and in and got the same thing. Possibly related to this?

I always figured matt would have a signal.
Not cortex, tho. Cortex would have some area, some place where he'd be able to reduce inflamed tempers of mefites. I guess you'd call that the corte-zone.

Cleared all of my *.metafilter.* cookies, logged back in, and I'm still seeing the same thing. It happens on the "recent activity" page as well. The green and gray look like they're working fine, though. (I can comment in the blue but not post a new post.)

"Recent Activity" is also screwed up; it keeps taking me to a log-in page (even when I'm already logged in). Then if I do log in from there again, it takes me to the main MeFi page and "Recent Activity" still takes me to a log-in page.
(I'm on Firefox 2, Win XP as well.)

Generally my feeling would be not to go live for 50,000 customers until i'm pretty sure that I haven't totally disabled the site's major function, so it must have been something unexpected?

On a traffic light green means go and yellow means yield, but on a MetaFilter it's totally different. Gray means go, blue means no posting for now, and red means what fucking new feature of MeFi is that?
