Northeast New England Meetup was a great success. There were lots of cameras and a delicious cake our wonderful hostess provided.

My photos here.

What a beautiful day for a meet-up! It was a pleasure to see the usual Vermont faces and to meet some new folks. Thanks for having us jessamyn!

A few from SirStan here, and turtlegirl, and joannemerriam, and me (segueing into the last meetup). Still waiting on pix from lelilo and weston and Eidetecker. It had to be one of the more photographed meetups recently. Thanks to everyone for making the trip.

Nice looking cake!

I always thought that Eidetecker would look a lot more German. You know, with one of those little hats with the spike on it and the monocle and everything.

Now there's a picture-book meetup! Awesome.

Needs more brownness, tho'! Sign me up!

Wow, that food looks good.
(I'm browsing meetup pics to see the food. Damn. Time for bed.)

Eideteker went all the way out there on his motorcycle!? See, now I feel like a chump.

I also made the risotto recipe from the Kitchen Detectives (basically this without the saffron and with some walnuts) and the foccacia recipe from the King Arthur Flour cookbook.

It was definately a wonderful event! Thanks so much Jessamyn for hosting! The Chili recipe Terrapin posted is amazing, as was the maple corn bread.

Thanks to everyone. That was a ridiculous amount of fun. What a lovely excuse for a road trip! Great food, wonderful people, and marvellous weather.

I wish I could hug you all again! Maybe next time, when we have the MetaFilter Music outdoor campfire singalong.

Y'all look so cheerful.

Of course, any meetup featuring risotto and a guest with the name "Shooty McGunpants" is guaranteed to be a winner.

terrapin, I'm making that chili right now. Thank you so much.

O. K., here's my initial pictures. (Sorry I'm late getting here, but it took me hours with Photoshop to make everyone look like a intellectual.) And thanks again for the use of the lawn, Jessamyn.

Can someone check to see if goodnewsfortheinsane survived?

I'm very much alive, terrapin.

I did forgo the bayleaves though (the friendly Moroccan didn't have 'em in stock, dammit), and added more cumin than is good for anyone - god do I like cumin - and my mother would eat it only after adding beef, but I did manage to salvage about half of it to refrigerate and enjoy vegetarianously whenever the urge strikes the coming days. Thanks again!
