I meant "window dressing" or "eye candy".

No worries Matt! I'm pretty sure that every user of this site has mixed up their words/phrases at some point.
I knew what you meant and I'm sure other people do too and won't give it another thought.

I hadn't thought about it until you said that. Now it's all I can think about. Is window candy a treat for the "glass and pane" crowd, or is it a kind of candy made from windows, a la "Shards O'Glass"? For that matter, what would eye dressing be? Prescription spectacles, or something more along the lines of a raspberry vinaigrette but for human eyeballs instead of lettuce? It's almost two in the morning and instead of sleeping I'm trying cope with some seriously disturbing mental images.
(Seriously though, great podcast. I love the feeling of being only 20,401 Mefites removed from celebrity.)

Very cool. Also, great to find an excellent, excellent track from chococat that I would have missed. The podcast may end up a great little background support/promo for music.

Excellent. Somebody should take this interview and turn it into a more traditional 'interview-profile' magazine piece.

Hey, cool!
Thanks for including me in that, Matt, that was great.
Hearing the song used in this context made me laugh for minute, how you frame the interview with it at both ends...it's sort of this sad longing from afar, bordering on obsession, and you're calling Adam Savage on the phone.
Great interview with Adam. As you say, very interesting to hear how things work from his perspective.
As Matt would say, "awesome!"

A word of warning: Adam Savage was the last guest ever on Penn Jillette's radio show. Savage guested on Thursday, CBS pulled the plug on Friday.
Just sayin'.

Matt, did our own asavage call you "Mike" at the end there? I wouldn't feel too bad about your own malapropism. ;-)

I actually first checked out Mythbusters because of all the hubbub on Metafilter. The show marathon over the holidays was the only thing everyone in the family could agree on watching. It was the show that saved Christmas!
I've really enjoyed all the podcasts so far...good stuff.

Nice interview, Matt. Adam seems to be every bit the sort of stand-up guy you'd imagine he is.
When he said, "Talk to you soon," was he serious, or was that just a throw-away phone greeting? TELL US TRUE DO YOU HAVE THE MAN'S EAR? Note to self, totally steal Matt's phone at a meetup and proceed to stalk all sorts of celebrities. Also, stalk and kill any "blogebrities".

Wow. Chococat sounded great!
Matt, that interview sounded as though it should have been difficult (phone audio?), but you pulled it off really well. That was fantastic.
Side note: the site was a little slow earlier, could that have been because it was hit about a billion times?
Good show Matt! Thanks.

It was fun and fans of the show and this site will enjoy it. For the first time, I was nervous doing this and I didn't get to ask a few more questions I wanted to, but overall I really liked hearing the behind-the-scenes info about upcoming shows.
The next podcast will wait until jessamyn gets back (late next week) and we'll return to the normal "week in review + interview" format.
