I don't have a problem with Hussein execution FPPs per se, but certainly this one is deletion-worthy?
I agree. Flagging it may help.

I can't believe it took 30 minutes for this post to happen. I guess it was bound to happen, too, actually.

You'd think that as the time for the execution was narrowed down, mattamyn would be on duty and at the ready to smack down these inevitable badposts. Matt, you need an extra moderator, preferably one who does not have a life. I am way too available.

It'd be cool if Matt could add a little subject-embargo code; he could enter certain words and posts would be rejected if they contained those words. So he could embargo "Saddam" for like the next four hours and anyone creating a new post about it would just get a rude message.
Of course you'd just get some bonehead posting "It is done." with a link to www.cnn.com and get around it, but still.

I never really had anything against Saddam, he being a secular leader and all, but what's wrong with having some fun at his expense since he's the "bad guy"?

This is the exact same reasoning that caused you to poop in the fat kid's hat back in grammar school, just because he was the "fat kid". Oh, and because poop = lolz.

At least the remaining execution thread has resolved so much. 300 comments of sound journalism, thoughtful recollections of the decesed, and freshly ground axes. Truly, we should as a site be proud.
