Indicator for when a favourite post has been updated? November 7, 2006 8:29 PM   Subscribe

The [Favorites from Username] page; an indicator for when a favourite post has been updated since the last visit to the favorite's page?
posted by porpoise to Feature Requests at 8:29 PM (5 comments total) 1 user marked this as a favorite

I was writing an update/experience in response to the answers to one of my askme questions that I had posted a few days ago and noticed a few people had favourited it (probably because they were interested in the answer) that spurred this request.

I've favourited a bunch of posts where I was interested in the update/follow-up that was promised (or hoped for), but I'm too lazy to click on each and every one of my favourited posts to check them repeatedly.

Would it be onerous/difficult to add an indicator of when a post has been updated (and how many comments?) since a last visit to the favorites page? Would anyone else appreciate such a feature?

Cocomment may not be the pony you seek but it will tell you when a thread has been updated. (disclaimer: I have only used it a couple of times elsewhere and haven't really formed an opinion)

saved favorites 'next page' is still borked. that would be a nice little fix for a bright shiny internet world wednesday.

Along the same lines, my dream pony is a view of my favorites identical to the 'my comments' view - so you can instantly see new comments in any thread you favorited, in order of newness. This would be the awesomest.

At the moment I favorite quite a lot of stuff, but never know when to check back, and would totally miss any new comments after more than a day or two.
