This stinks (and I know it was deleted), rinkjustice is supposedly raydexter's son. Although that might be true, the posting history in ask.me looks like ray is sockpuppet from the way the dates line up for the questions asked. They both have the same homepage in their profiles, and their answers and writing style line up as well. From his question in ask.me about his dad's comic promotion, it shows that he is involved in the success of the comic.
It stinks that it went down like this because the concept of a candian superhero is hilarious in its own way and I bet someone would have posted it to mefi in a matter of days from projects.

Whats wrong, giant pill?
Peace is an essential component of happiness, and Jesus Christ is the author of both.
Maybe if you were in touch with the big JC you wouldn't be having these problems!

Wolverine isn't really Canadian. At least not in the way that Canadians are Canadian.
Alpha Flight is full of geeks in stupid costumes and, yeah, no surprise, they're a bunch of silly Canadians.
But, seriously, Americans should stop mocking our neighbors to the north and instead learn from them. Canadians may be strange creatures, "Bizarro-Americans," but they do have much to teach us about being a responsible and mature country.

rinkjustice is generally dubious, he's a half-arsed bevets-a-like with a weird sideline in bodybuilding potions.
Views on art: People who enjoy this soul-damning garbage need psychological help and must promptly repent and change, giving their lives to Jesus Christ, or else this awfulness will hang around their neck like a millstone at their final judgement.
Advice to unhappy Ask Metafilter questioner: Peace is an essential component of happiness, and Jesus Christ is the author of both. He is the only way to the happiness you crave, as He is the only way to happiness in the next life. This I know and can testify is true.
Advice to someone worried about religion-inspired sexual guilt: Fornication is a grievious sin and an abomination in the eyes of God
Yet more God-bothering: 1, 2, 3.
(Of course, he has every right to express his beliefs, but most of the time he just trots them out inappropriately, and aggressively too, sometimes.)

keswick, I guess I can see your point, but the self-link didn't need much ferreting out in this case. It was pretty blatent. It's kind of a shame, because this seemed like sort of an interesting idea. Would it be alright if somebody (like me, for instance) reposted it for him?

maryh, feel free to repost but the thread might go badly, or it might not. People seem to like that comic, it's a shame that rinkjustice is so adamant about flogging it even further than the rules allow.

Rinkjustice seemly fucked up and responded to his own question under the wrong name, then quickly pointed out that raydexter is infact, his daughter. Since raydexter posted the comic project, I think that it's actually her thats writing the comic. Keep it in the family and all. Anyway, fuckers banned so it doesn't matter anyway.

Are there other nationalistic comic superheroes from nations not usually considered threatening? The Argentine Avenger? The Danish Devil? Someone should pull an FPP together, starting with Captain Canuck and branching out...

It obviously broke the guidelines, got deleted, and is not being called out almost 12 hours later.
WTF?
Putting an admission of the complete uselessness of this call out in brackets doesn't mitigate the fact that this MeTa is 100% horeshit..
If I were crankier or more suspicious, I'd suspect pointing out the deletion is just an excuse to get some kicks in at a member whose personal beliefs rubbed some folks the wrong way.
Wolverine isn't really Canadian. At least not in the way that Canadians are Canadian.
I'll bet you live out in, um, central canada, don't you?
Now excuse me, I have to put on my red checkered shirt and go fight another grizzly bear. That's the fourth damn one this week.

It was called "self-linkish" and not a self link in the reason for deletion, so it wasn't clear that they were banned until jess pointed it out. Now it is cleared up.

I think I have this sorted out...
rinkjustice is Jason Comely, Canadian Mormon and exercise guru.
raydexter is supposedly Jason's daugher Desire Comely: it is suggested (with justification but not "proof", in my opinion) that the account is simply a sockpuppet for Jason. A small amount of research suggests that Desire does exist and is around 16.
Richard Comely is Jason's father, Desire's grandfather, and the artist responsible for Captain Canuck.
The raydexter account posted a project about the return of Captain Canuck, but given that the posting states "Captain Canuck is Canada's favorite comic book superhero and the creation of my father, Richard Comely" it seems clear that this post at the least was made by rinkjustice using his daughter's account.
rinkjustice then promoted the Captain Canuck thread using the rinkjustice account.
Now the promoted FPP is deleted and both accounts are banned.
Any questions?
Doesn't seem quite Christian to me somehow.
