Pony: Lofi for AskMe, MeTa et al, too?

lofi.mefi works for the main Metafilter page, but not AskMe, MeTa, etc. More inside.

I've recently discovered the joy of browsing while mobile, and would love to see the site work on the pitful excuses for browsers on cellphones and PDAs.

If you've got a Java phone, use Opera Mini. But don't post to MeFi with it, it doesn't work.

lofi.mefi is a hack I built for a friend that needed to see mefi at work without getting busted back in 2000, years before I allowed the plaintext theme. I don't maintain it and should remove it, so don't expect it to show up in other places.

Someone was kind enough to figure out some CSS tweaks for mobile browsers and they sent me their code, but it required some changes in the site headers and I never got around to implementing it.

Please don't ever kill .lofi, I find it occasionally useful for tracking down missing posts more easily.

This one is even better than the google one.

Works on AskMe, MetaTalk, and just about every other site (I doubt it works on Music.Metafilter.com though)

CSS tricks probably aren't enough...I love not having the annoying header and sidebars on lofi. SAVE THE LOFI!
