Has no one posted to the front page in the last eight hours, or is this an extension of the timezone bug?
Ah... I see the timezone thing wasn't a bug. But I've never seen metafilter quiet this long.

Someone should post something about John Prescott being a villainous rogue who is in the pockets of a wannabe casino giant.

I am so turned on by this thread, it's scaring me. I'm going to bed under a quilt woven of pancakes. Only jessamyn is welcome to join me, and that only if she brings me the sweet, sweet Vermont maple I have come to associate almost entirely with her.

Shall I send you some of my homebrew maple syrup champagne? (You can supply your own aspirin)

A blanket made from warm pancakes would be pretty fucking awesome. But then it'd get all cold and clammy. But on the upside you wouldn't have to go far for a midnight snack.
only if she brings me the sweet, sweet Vermont maple
This is a very disturbing metaphor. I'm not so hungry anymore.

I think the implication was quite clear, sir, that jessamyn is a woman who knows how to keep her pancakes warm.

The wonder of google cache means you need only tell the internets once. We'll remember it for you.

Thank you, sir, for wrecking my brain with even worse visuals and metaphors. May I have another?
No slight at all intended towards jessamyn, who as a living, breathing and rather stern but not at all humorless librarian undoubtably makes bookish nerd-boys everywhere swoon a little.
Will you whisper to me more about AACR2 2002 - will you meander through APPM? Can I caress your gilt, gauffered edges? I would bury my nose deep within the blind-bound hollow-backed spine of your illuminated elephant folio, lingering among the deeply heady old book airs.

One of the things I miss about the pre-September that never ended internet is quiet days. Used to be that if you logged on on Christmas day or New Years or most American stats that the net would be like a ghost town with tumbleweeds blowing down the middle of mainstreet.

Sound Team didn't think much of the review that Pitchfork gave them and replied via YouTube. [via] (which also reports on the winner of the Moo & Oink contest).
