How do I customize my profile info? April 18, 2006 12:04 AM Subscribe
I'm sorry if this has been covered or is painfully obvious, but in searching MeTa and generally scouring my profile page, I can't find where to click to change my information. The one MeTa thread I did find on the subject (here) says there's a "customize" link. It seems this has been replaced with "Preferences," since the url ends in "customize.cfm," but when I click there, I get nothing but the set of Features, Links, and Sites links. Help?
I can see the place to change my e-mail perfectly fine when I click on Preferences. Maybe a problem with your browser settings?

Works fine for me. What browser/OS are you using?

I'm using Firefox 1.5.0.2 (latest release, I believe) on WinXP, sp2.
I just checked it in IE, and I'm getting the same results.

I see it fine, too, on the preferences page. Firefox 1.5.0.2 for XP. What do you see on the prefs?

I'm seeing the same screen as Igor XA just posted. Two different Macs; Firefox on one of them, Safari and Camino on the other.

When I posted up thread, I was at work, where I am forced to use Internet Explorer. It worked fine.
At home I use Firefox... and it still works.
Strange.

You people who can't see the forms, what do you see when you look at the source code of the page?
Do you see the text below, for instance?
If you'd like to change the font face currently being used, or the font sizes of the body text and the smaller text ...

Well if it's missing in the source code, the problem's not a browser thing. Is there any common thread for the people it doesn't work for?

works for me. metafilter.com is resolving to 70.86.84.162 - is it possible others are picking up a different machine with development/old code?

I was beefing up some possible security holes and still working the bugs out. It should work if your id and password cookies are correct.
I'll look at it more this morning to see what is tripping up other users.
