Hello, everyone, happy weekend! And speaking of weekends (graceful segue), reading a recent paper NYT Style Magazine (international edition), I ran into the jauntily confident statement, "The 1970s were, of course, a golden age of lounging." Which I did not know. Not only did I not know there was a golden age of lounging, I don't even know what hallmarks would signify a golden age of lounging. I wonder what other golden ages I might be missing? Or just generally, apparently obvious things. [more inside]

I'm looking for a post about a woman who designed historical costumes. She designed and made a beautiful dress to her own measures and blogged about it. Then she found the dress for sale WITH A PICTURE OF HER WEARING THE DRESS. She ordered the dress and they sent her a piece of crap. I believe there youtube videos.

Happy weekend, friends. This week I'm dreaming and remembering about ... sleeping. Dreaming of this berth and this pull down blind, rocking away in a sleeping car, or in a cabin on the sea, rolled by the swell of waves and the water's lullaby.
