Can we have a way to optionally restrict the visibility of a meetup location to the participants who've confirmed their attendance? Or to at least limit the visibility to logged-in mefites? Currently there's no way to, for example, announce a house party without the whole world seeing where the host lives.

I know this has been asked before but I think it's worth discussing it again. Rather than a full-fledged "queue" in which you'd enter multiple questions at once and they'd automatically post once a week ...what about just prompting by email when your week is up and you're eligible to post another question? MetaTalk has a comment period of 30 days by default. In most MeTa contexts, this is good, and makes total sense. But for the podcast, this makes less sense—especially since people might be coming to listen to a podcast well after it has been recorded. Could the podcast pages be stripped of their commenting time limit? This would be more in line with MeFi Music and FanFare, which seem to be the closest analogues elsewhere on the site. Is that something other users would find to be welcome? [more inside]

Tags for posts are wildly variable, and plenty of tags that ought to be used on a post very often are not. It would be easy to fix this if any member, not just the poster or moderators, were able to edit or at least add tags to a post. This would make the entire tag system more accurate, make topics easier to find, research, and browse through, and otherwise make the site more useful. Any chance this could be implemented? Thanks.

In this recently deleted post we're told to go to the most recent I/P thread. Couldn't there be a link to the thread in the deletion? I'm not sure where exactly to go, particularly if it doesn't appear in the first page of the popular posts tab. [more inside]

There has been some concern that some of the recent FFPs about state-level same sex marriage legalization have been relatively thin. For the states where legal SSM is still pending, prewriting draft text and collecting links to background information would help us create more substantial FPPs that could still be posted in a timely manner as soon a ruling is issued or a law is passed. To this end, all interested MeFites are invited to use these MetaFilter wiki pages to collaborate on future FPPs for each state.
