Louisville meetups July 2005

Vidiot and I are going to Lebowski Fest next weekend - you know, bowl, drive around, the occasional acid flashback. Any Metafilterians attending want to share a lane?

I'd love to go but I'm pretty far gone from Kentucky. I'll have to settle for the occasional midnight showing.

I couldn't get tickets, but I live in Louisville. Perhaps we could do a Louisville meet-up?

I was in the boonies of south-east Asia when that movie came out. Although I don't bowl or smoke weed, several friends told me independantly afterwards, when I was back in touch, 'they made a movie about you, dude!' Once I'd actually seen the movie, I was honoured, if a little chagrined.

I would dearly love to attend. Still not independantly wealthy, though, damn it. I'll be there, in, like, spirit, man.

Hey 235w103, I have tickets for both nights. Bought 'em when I thought I could make the trek, now I know I can't. I'll sell 'em to you for face value, and I'll pay the shipping (which'll be pricey 'cause it'll have to be priority courier at this point). No funny stuff.

By the way, 235w103, the LebowskiFest website says that while the Main Event is sold out, there are still tickets available for the They Might Be Giants show and midnight screening on Friday. Likewise, the Garden Party on Saturday afternoon (bands, games, what-have-you) costs $5 at the gate and doesn't sell out.

We're driving in on Friday afternoon, checking in to Executive West. Last year, I enjoyed dinner at a Vietnamese restaurant nearby, and I wouldn't mind going back there - if it's still around. I'm also open to suggestions! My e-mail is in my profile.
