Hey, my first Shoutout! Sorry felix betachat, I noted in the original thread that circumstances were keeping me at work here in Albuquerque. Looks like a great time was had by all. So sad to have missed out. No really, you have no idea.

Where are Da Bears and Da Bulls and Hizzoner Da Mare?

Ah yes, the good old days of Chicago. Now it's environmentally-friendly rooftop gardens, non-smoking bars and condos. Maxwell Street has been replaced by a Quizno's/Gap/Caribou Coffee MegaStrip™ and the Bears suck wang. But I still love it here.

I once watched the sun rise over Lake Michigan while drinking an entire bottle of whiskey with a friend...legends were born that fateful day. The skyline was beautiful onfire....

Oi! I have been outshouted, that is the tits, man. Just for that Kevin I am going to move to chicago and set up my streetcorner one man bum harmony, trashcan fire, cigar butt on a toothpick and fingerless glove operation and you can come over and make me dance for nickels. One of these days I have to go to one of these things and make a shout out. Perhaps when the reverse mohawk I gave myself last night to see if it would sober me up enough to iron my suit for Book Expo America, grows back in.

For some reason, I love this photo of Kevin. Also, I love that 3 out of the 4 guys at the table are wearing glasses (and one White Sox hat!). And cali, you're right re: crush-onastick. Whiskey neat women are almost invariably cool.

crush: I'm not sure. I'll be back for a few weeks in mid-November to propose my dissertation, but I may be gone for as long as 2 years, depending on my funding. I'm planning to blog the trip, so that'll be one way to keep in touch. Most of it will be test runs for some theological writing that doesn't fit well in my academic life right now. But there will be photos and anecdotes, certainly.

But mainly, email. Drop a note and I'll try to do the same. I suspect your stories will have a lot more drama than mine!

I didn't see your umbrella, but I didn't look all that closely. Sorry.
