Posting limits? May 27, 2005 2:11 PM Subscribe
so, are there differences between the posting limits (once per week) on ask.mefi and metafilter proper? In other words, once you've posted anywhere on the Mefi network, do you have to wait a week to post elsewhere, or is the posting limit unique to each area?
Also, it would be cool if "best answers" were tallied for each user, and posting frequency tied to it somehow. Or not. Please don't hurt me.

Thanks. I sent congratulatory new baby vibes your way when in Portland last week. My other plan was to drop some trinket in your snailbox, or festoon the city with "Haughey has a posse" stickers, but Powell's was calling, and it was raining a lot...
/thanks

but only once per week on Ask MetaFilter.
Whenever I hear a member comment about their question being a wasted question. Then sigh, by further stating, wish the wish, question, could be retrieved. As they are missing out by while waiting for the next posts time limit to pass.
I’m not sure if the comment is for advertisement or true disappoint.

Actually, that would be idiotic.

No. As soon as you give a bunch of asshats a high score board, they game the system to try to get on it. Don't encourage them.

Probably true, but how would you game that? Click on your buddy's answers and run up the score?

Who needs buddies? I have sock puppets who think my answers are double-plus good.

Yes. You can make a new front page post once per 24 hours on MetaFilter proper, but only once per week on Ask MetaFilter. Each one is independent of the other. If you ask a question, you can still make a post to MetaFilter a couple days later.

Naw, it's not a contest.
