A man goes to his doctor and waves his arm saying, "Doctor, doctor, it hurts when I go like this." The doctor, mimicking the movement, replies, "Then don't go like this."

</><br> (line 690 column 176) should probably be <br />, like line 689. Why it happened, don't know.
All browsers will error on it because it is a problem on the server side.

why would any concievable combination of markup cause a server-side error? Which it definitely is, since a 501 code is sent with the response (if you really want to geek out, telnet to port 80!).
But curiously enough, I do see some things in lynx that I don't see in Moz:

688 : Did you even bother to read what I wrote? <strong>I am NOT arguing either point</strong>, but rather making a general observation about a website thatProbably just in the source but hidden by white-on-white text action.
has no concept of law (statutory, common or administrative). If you did read what I wrote you would find I am in favor of regulation of business and would likely <strong>NOT</strong> support this legislation, <em><strong>which I <a href="http://www.metafilter.com/mefi/25820#490940">expressly stated here</a></strong></em>.<br />
689 : <br />
690 : Soyjoy, I would strongly suggest a horn book on corporations law and securities law so you are no longer ignorant about how businesses are regulated and
treated under the law.</><br>

Here is what mathowie said the last time this came up.
why would any concievable combination of markup cause a server-side error?
Cold Fusion is parsing the markup, so if there is munged or non-allowed code you get a server-side error.
Here is someone else with a similar problem.

and from mathowie
Sometimes in archived threads someone that posted bad html will break the static file rendering function, because the malformed or fake html will trick ColdFusion into thinking it is a CF tag.
So I can break and archived thread by doing something like </ img>...
And I could execute CF code just by putting it in my comment?
The latter seems especially potentially problematic....

My guess (for the thread's priceless comment):
"First they came for the Greens..."
Then they came for the tomatoes, the Bac-O's and then finally the zesty ranch dressing.
