MetaFilter site rebuild update: 4/25/2025 April 25, 2025 2:17 PM Subscribe
your regularly scheduled update on the ongoing work to rebuild MetaFilter.com. see details and references inside.
some context for those who may not know what this is about: kirkaracha is rebuilding the MetaFilter website. I've volunteered as project manager. you'll be hearing from me weekly until this project launches.
Updates this week
kirkaracha has fixed the password bug in his local testing; he'll push that fix to the live server this weekend, and work on bug squashing from there. to that end, I'll be reviewing the bug reports we've received so far for proper assessment and prioritization.
this means that you'll soon once again have full access to play around on the beta site -- please do, and if you find more bugs, please report them. don't worry about reviewing the existing bugs first! the more bug reports from more people, the more easily we can prioritize, and the more stable things get.

This is fantastic, Kybard. I appreciate all the visibility into what's been reported and current priorities and assessments of effort. This looks like really thorough and thoughtful work.
Thank you to you and everyone who's involved in finding, logging, and fixing bug and assessing and implementing feature requests!
Truly wonderful. Thank you!
