We’ve had threads about donations for Ukraine. Here are some options for volunteering, in-country or remotely. Please add others you know of!

I hope it's OK to post this here: NYT article today by a vet who has volunteered in Ukraine and has advice for other vets who are thinking of doing so.

Does anyone know of any opportunities to help new refugees get acclimated, like they do in Canada? I am of Ukrainian heritage, but I don't speak the language, and I'm not connected to the local Ukrainian scene, which for understandable reasons, might be preferable for newcomers ... I'm not sure.

That's a map of groups in the USA that help with refugees in general. I think the USA should be doing a lot more.

In my city, several religious organizations help with resettling refugees. Jewish Social Services does this kind of work, and the Catholic church I attend has resources and ways to help on their website. That's how I learned about a local clinic needing baby supplies for pregnant refugees from Afghanistan - I am sure they will help Ukrainian refugees as they come in. There are also Ukrainian Orthodox Churches all over the US, and I would expect them to act as a resource connecting refugees with people who are able to help.

My city has an active Polish/Polish-American community, and last Saturday? I helped with a raffle to raise money to help Ukrainian refugees, at our annual Spring Bazaar.
So, it may be worth it to see if there's similar communities in your cities.
