These are great! Thanks for posting.
A couple of Asks I loved this year that didn't get on the list are I need more laughs for my armor and we like to have a party for our kids now and then.

Looks like I mostly favorited recommendation threads: filmTube, D&Dtube, CRPGs (also), funny anime, curated new music sources, non-US memoirs, science news sources, iTunes alternatives, 24 Hour Party People alternatives, "What if ..." entailment SF/F, hospital/morgue horror, weird mysteries, what's it like to live in ___ sources, worthwhile one-time fees (AFAICT the only overlap with TFA), paradigm shift essays, and bookish questions to ask. Odd questions that turned up fun things I'd never heard of included the video game code with no loop constructs and the superhero remembered as a chef. Then there's can you make an x-ray with bananas? Anyway, it was fun to seem them all again.

An Askar, surely?
Or maybe an OscMe? No, definitely an Askar.

This kind of excitement about being recognized is a good reflection of the stakes felt by many people when they consider making an FPP.

I am delighted that other people are delighted to find that someone, somewhere has affirmed their words. I'm the poster of the under-loved comments thread, right next door, and...and I just want to see it turn into something good. I want MeFites to see their own names mentioned and feel a little jolt of happiness. I hope favorites get issued with abandon. Because why not? What's the downside? So many of us are having a hard time--and these favorite post/comment threads are a great way to remind one another that we appreciate people's efforts to connect.

MonkeyToes, I notice that you're a person who goes out of their way to lift other people up here, and to be good, and sometimes to remind people they can do better.
You're awesome.
