MeFi Holiday Card Exchange form is live!

Sign ups are open, and will close approximately 9am EST 11/14. I'll have assignments out by end of day EST 11/16 - if you haven't gotten yours by then, please check your spam/junk and contact me.

This is our fifth year!

We have 5, 10, up to 20 and up to 30 options available!

You can choose US only, send anywhere (international) or Europe only (if there are enough signups for this).

Other answers to commonly asked questions-
- We don't have a specific timeline on when you need to have your cards sent out by, just whenever you can.
- If something happens and you can't send out your cards after all, send me a message, and I will happily send some for you!
- Any type of card is fine - store-bought, handmade, postcards, etc.
- Number of card options are 5, 10, up to 20, up to 30. If you are open to more than 10, but not 20, you can add that to the notes. Sometimes the sorting works out that I have some odd numbers. Also, if you choose up to 20/30, it is possible that you will have a duplicate (because you may be in two lists of 10) - so it may not work out perfectly evenly.

If you don't have the bandwidth to do the card exchange, but you'd like to get a holiday card anyway, I am happy to send one - just memail me your info!

I do have the form set up so that it sends a confirmation with a summary of what you've chosen - this means that it has to collect your email. If you don't want to let it do that, you're welcome to memail me, and I will add you to the spreadsheet.

I'll try to check into this thread daily, but if you have an urgent question, please memail me.

Also ... I still have a stack of store-bought cards that I didn't use last year, so I really didn't have a choice about signing up.

Last year, I discovered at the last minute that it is possible to order custom photo cards for an OK price ... and I had the perfect photo of my cat.

I can't decide whether to splash out on some very reasonable custom photo cards or use up the perfectly good ones in the closet. It's nice having the occasional quandary where both options are good.

I still have my favorite card from last year up on my fridge

I have one from last year framed on the wall of my entryway. It's the only picture that's actually stayed on the wall through all of my clodhopper upstairs neighbor's midnight stomparounds.

I have a several of those photo strings up in my office where I hang all the cards every year, and I have a couple cards still up from last year. :) I usually leave them all up through January - it makes me smile when I see all of them!

Already signed up, but just saw the banner announcing sign ups for this and the gift exchange.

If you've never done the card swap, but saw the banner and are now considering it, you should definitely sign up! You will get fun cards of all types and it will make you smile.

I really enjoy this exchange - thank you for organising. I kept my cards up for ages after Christmas last year and then turned a lot of them into present labels.

I was excited to get my list of people, but a little worried because I thought that the US and Australia can't currently send mail (click on Australia). Am I wrong? I can't actually tell if the "temporary disruption" ever comes off the list if it gets fixed. Anyone know?

I think letters are ok:

I've had my first couple! Including one with amazing gold calligraphy and sealing wax. Am trying to restrain myself from buying my own sealing wax. I'm not going to open them until the 1st - I have a difficult work week and family thing that week, so it'll be good to have an injection of pleasure.
