IRL alerts aren't working July 30, 2021 8:01 PM   Subscribe

Granted with the pandemic, there have been many fewer IRL events, but given IRL alerts aren't currently working, shouldn't that be noted on the IRL page? Right now, anyone who checked out the IRL page would think they were working.

I did send a message via the contact form a couple of months ago, and got this response from loup:
We're currently reworking map and geolocation stuff on the site,for things like IRL posts and uer locations, with a new library after the older google maps API was retired. In the meantime you can still check in the site directly.

I'll check in with frimble on what the current state is with this; I'm not clear on whether it's still expected to be an issue with alerts vs. the geocoding stuff or if there's something else up here.
