4th Annual Metafilter Valentine Mail Exchange! January 10, 2021 4:10 PM Subscribe
It's that dreary time of year that requires extra love and love related puns to get through. Come exchange some Valentines!
Started by the amazing mochapickle, in the spirit of needlegrrl's winter holiday card exchange and Sparky Buttons' monthly card club, the Valentine card exchange is back!
This is a classroom-style valentines exchange - you'll be put in a group of 10-12ish mefites to send and receive cards.
Send me your info via memail by midnight EST on Sunday, January 17th, and I'll try to get groups emailed out on the 18th.
Please include:
the name you'd like your cards addressed to
your mailing address
your email address
your mailing preference - US only or anywhere*
*If there's interest in a Euro only group, I can do that as well. If you'd prefer Euro only, let me know how small a group is ok with you (i.e. if only 4 or 6 people request Euro only, are you content with a cozy exchange, or would you rather have the group filled out with more distant mefites?)
If you don't mind sending an extra card to a latecomer who might notice this post after the deadline, feel free to include that info as well. If you have special requests I am failing to anticipate, toss those in as well and I'll see what I can do.
Any kind of happy card is fine! Some people like to get crazy with construction paper, and some people prefer to send out cards they found at the big box store, and all the cards end up being delightful, every time!

Yay, this is so fun every year. Thanks for doing it! January is always crazy at work, so this is a nice thing to look forward to once that is done.

Most groups are 11, including yourself, so you're sending/receiving 10 cards. A few people who indicated they didn't mind sending an extra card have a list of 12, to accommodate someone who wanted a smaller group.

Dear my swap group: I was feeling full of myself because I had my cards done before February even started, truly shocking for me, but of course I didn't mail them then and now I need a tauntaun to get to the post office, so. It's just gonna have to be Valentine's Day all dang month!
