Oh, naming vehicles. I can't do this. I can't name anything. I've ridden my bike thousands of miles over the last 3-4 years, and it has become part of how I identify (bicycle commuter 5 days a week, at least), and I cannot for the life of me come up with any kind of name for it. It's just.. my bike. Not even Bike, just a descriptor. I bought a new car about a year ago now, and I kind of think of it as my little silver-y shuttlecraft but it, too, is without a name, and probably always will be. I've never managed to name any car I've owned. I will play RPG characters for 10-20 hours, decide I hate the name, and delete them and start over. I have deep and abiding envy for people who name their things.

I changed the clocks! (My answer in the sleep poll: I need better sleep habits. Also I'm definitely not a morning person and I prefer a later start like jessamyn)

Can't believe it's already time for a new podcast. Some conversation in the last episode inspired me to want to make a MeFi post (which I will still try to do).

I recall that Dorothea (in Middlemarch) called her sister Celia by "Kitty" which confused me at the time. Also my mind was blown when I found out "Hello Kitty" is actually supposed to be a greeting; the character's full name is actually Kitty White (and she has a twin sister, Mimmy White)!

This ep reminded me to comment in that cookie factory AskMe, which I did earlier -- mentioned an old MeFi post about a UK cookie factory that had its own radio network, and pointed to a comment from a MeFite who worked for the factory (in the '60s no less)!

Thanks for another enjoyable episode, and hooray for music clips.

Overthinking names is something I'm really good at. True story: back when I first wanted to join MeFi, mathowie was doing that registration throttling thing, and one night I finally got to the form to fill out, and I was so excited! Then... I got stuck on what username to pick. Long story short: I didn't sign up until much, much later.

That said, I'm always happy to propose episode titles because they're a lot easier to choose. Alternates for this one:

"Exquisite Taxidermy Collection"
"Oh, You Seem Nice"
"A Website of People Who Sleep Terribly"

(I didn't say they'd be good titles)

My car's name is Prince. Which is a good name, imo, because it can mean a few different things

1. the greatest musician of all time
2. Prince Fielder one of my fave hunky baseball players
3. Prince of Darkness which is what I they used to call my dad at work (it's his old car)
