GISH (formerly GISHWHES; the Greatest International Scavenger Hunt the World Has Ever Seen) is back, and so is the unofficial MeFite team Strange Fascination (previously, more previously). We have some open spots on the team. Would you like to join us, gentle MeFites?
Signups end on Friday 14 July and the Hunt runs from 28 July to 4 August. We still have a few spots open if any MeFites wish to do zany art stuff and subsume their wills to the whims of an unstable B-list celebrity with us. Kid Ruki texted me the other day from the local ice cream joint (where she had driven herself and a friend as a newly licensed driver!) to let me know that when she got to the window, she panicked and ordered what I get. "So what I'm hearing is, in a moment of panic, you forgot which one of us you were?" "Yup."
This is all to say that I'll wait until the last minute to register her this year, because we're cool sharing a spot if it means more MeFites!

Well, first thing, download the GISH app.T The app is new this year, so we're not sure how exactly it works. The actual hunt is is 28 July - 4 August 2018. There will be a task list, mediated through the app.
We also have a facebook group that we've used to communicate and coordinate with each other in previous years, given that we have a very global team. I'll send you all some details via email.
We usually have a shared google spreadsheet to keep track of who is doing what, and a dropbox for sharing. I think the app might do some of that this year.

In previous years, they have combined partial teams with other partial teams to make a quorum (I think the minimum team size is nine?). If you and anyone else who missed out club together, that might work?

I made a team and it made me captain, yikes! TeamFilter. Are you a MeFite who wants to try this and have some wackyfuntimes? Sign up asap, join us. In a day or too, Strange Fascination will be publishing all its submissions on a tumblr - when that's done, I'll create a new MeTa thread so we can share our zaniness with the rest of the Mefites.
If ThereIsNoCabal (and any other Mefite teams out there) could put a tumblr together, it would be great if you could share your contributions too. We'd love to see what you came up with.
