150,000 is a shit load of posts. Congratulations to all. Couldn't afford the unobtanium, but please accept these pixels in its stead.

That's nothing. We're nearing 300,000 in AskMe, and it began later!

I thought this was about byanyothername having made 150,000 posts and I was really shocked. I was like damn they must have like a million favorites?!

Set the post for the heart of the sun

Heart of the sun.

I predict the 1,000,000 FFP will be posted on Mars by a MeFi-naut.

And for the hopefuls -- post #150,019 has yet to be made!

(Or should that be 150018 for the 150,000th FPP? 150019 would be a fence-post-post. But who cares! This is awesome! Congrats byanyothername!)

On terra we stand, in orbit we fall.

Hmm, you've yet to collect your prize. 150k wins you a Buick and a custom GIF of David Bowmen in his hotelroom eating a donut!

Prices subject to change, Tax, title, and Mars breathing house license included, but not gratis.

Space flights lasting more then 4 hours can be exciting, but call Huston if there is a problem.

It's a great post. It has a Pink Floyd soundtrack!

Chocolate Pickle: That's nothing. We're nearing 300,000 in AskMe, and it began later!

Well but if we count all the "Can I eat this" questions as a single mega-question, and do the same with both "should I DTMFA" and "help me name my dog/cat/child," we're down from ~300,000 Asks to, like, seven.

I'm pretty sure it means you have to marry into the cabal of which there is none so, you know, define "terrible".

Congrats and great post!

This is a really stupid question but as long as we're celebrating byanyothername (which is a great thing to do! Yay! Also yay Metafilter!), I was wondering -- that name is a reference to Shakespeare and not, for example, the song Drip Drip Drip by Chumbawamba, right? I mean, I'm definitely the only person who reads that name and gets that song stuck in my head, huh? For sure? Just checking.

Not as such, but since AugustWest couldn't get the unobtanium to celebrate (unsurprising in retrospect), you've instead met with a terrible fĂȘte.

You know what, as a grossly underpaid scholar of byanyothername, I could go either way on this, but I'm going to have to attach greater weight to the Chumbawamba etymology, since their cultural contributions are undeniable, while this "Shakespeare" chap is obviously just Francis Bacon in a paper mask.

Anyway, I can't remember.

I'd always assumed it was a reference to Bya Nyo Thername, the post-structuralist post-punk Swedish band that I first heard of when I made it up for this comment.
