Looking for a comment on AskMe, probably within the last few months, that linked to an article about powering through a relationship after the honeymoon period was over.
The initial post, IIRC, was a typical "should I stay in this relationship" question. The OP's relationship didn't have any red flags, it was more a sense of lack of excitement several months in.
The comment that I'm looking for linked to an article by a woman who wrote about going through a period with her boyfriend when she was so frustrated about him being so nice that she almost broke up with him. Maybe some of his little quirks were really pissing her off, too? The linked article was on a website with a white background (don't you love how I narrow it down for you guys?) and used a moderate amount of profanity. I think it was posted earlier this year, say between January and April or May. It could have been an older post, too, linked to at the bottom by a more current one.

I don't know, is staying late at work to find this more or less ridiculous than knowing exactly which article this was referring to off the top of my head.

I'll take my answer in the form of the location of every important item I have misplaced in the last six months because my brain has apparently decided blog posts have higher priority.

I love the idea that there are MetaFilter nerds: re-cataloging posts according to their personal taxonomies, self-dyeing their own blue pepsi, sewing new fedoras by hand for MeFi LARPing, all while surrounded by vintage moderator action figures (including several Jessamyn models, which they even don't make anymore.)

Between the bedframe and the bed. Under the fridge. It was in your heart all along. At the bar, but somebody turned it in. That guy ate them, but wound up feeling guilty about it when he saw he left his at home that morning.

Ohoho, MeFi LARPing is my new favorite thing. I can see future generations reading through Ye Olde Tomes of MetaFiltre, re-enacting great acts of MetaFilter sleuthing, saving the day for those locked in their own homes or trapped in an elevator, and finding that lost cat at a national park, along with the usual array of flame wars and flame-outs from Times Long Gone. After all, no one really LARPs about modern activities, do they? There's no "let's go to the park and re-enact the cold war."
Well, maybe there is, but I couldn't tell the difference between people sitting at random benches and suspiciously reading news papers or engaging in family parties, while casting glances at others in the park, guessing at what they might really be up to on a Saturday afternoon.

It is a measure of my age that I still can't see "LARP" without thinking, first, "LRRP", which is a Vietnam War-era acronym for long range reconnaissance patrol.
Also, we all know what esprit d'escalier means, right? there must be some relation between that and putting things on the stairs.

Because when they're up, they're up, and when they're down, they're down, but when you put things on the stairs, they're neither up nor down. Stairs are the purgatory of the home, where items go to wait.
