A different kind of fantasy

I've been doing wins pools for the last year and love them. Does anyone in MeFi want to join me?

I read about wins pools in this Bill Simmons article on Grantland and have been doing them with friends. It's a really fun and hands off way to have some stakes during the season.

Here are the basic rules for those who don't want to read the article:

1. A totally randomized draft order is created.
2. Each player picks their teams.
3. Profit

I want to set up pools for the NFL and NBA. I'd like to have 8 people per NFL pool and 10 people per NBA pool. We can certainly accommodate more players if there is demand. There would be no monetary prizes, just bragging rights.

For discussion and stuff like that, I'll likely set up a subreddit on reddit.

I seem to suddenly have free time, so why not? I know next to nothing about the NBA, but for this kind of pool that doesn't seem too much of a problem.

I'd be up for trying it out. I'm more intrigued by the NBA version, but if you need more people to play NFL, I can do that as well.

We are full up for both pools. Thanks to all who signed up. I sent email invites to the Google Group to those who sent me email addresses. I have already posted the draft orders for each pool. Let's have a great season!
