Question about searching the site January 7, 2014 12:32 PM Subscribe
I'm interested to see whether I favorite any particular user's comments more frequently than others, on the theory that I should link to them. Similarly, I'd be interested to see if there are other like-minded folk who favorite me more than once, for the same purpose. Is that possible?
If so, what are the search parameters I should be using?
Also, yikes, is this a question I should be directing to the staff and not posting here?

Yeah, there is the Infodumpster, put together by Combustible Edison Lighthouse as a way of searching the Infodump. Look under "fans".

Posting this here is totally fine, no worries.
The site search itself won't really help with any of this; it's focused on text-based search of posts and comments more than on things like metadata relations between users, etc.
But! There's a lot of that metadata available in the Metafilter Infodump, for folks who like processing raw data files in their spare time; for folks who would rather use an actual search interface, there's Combustible Lighthouse Edison's external Infodumpster which uses our Infodump data to feed a nice set of customizable search functions.

Every day I try to find a way to feel better about myself and today it is that I apparently have a eidetic recall of comic strip dialogue I read as a child.
