Help me find the askme about references? October 19, 2013 6:54 PM Subscribe
Not academic references. I think someone was giving something handmade to his or her brother, and someone else might have suggested almanacs, but I can't find it, or anything like it. I'm looking for lists of useful things to be able to look up on a piece of paper, back of a book. I know my times table, and don't find much need to convert between weights. But my damned ADhDled brain can't remember or think of things I look up repeatedly.
Similar ones that might help if you're building your own reference list:
-what's some eternally useful knowledge I can put on my business card
-best pocket-sized reference book to carry
-useful/impressive things to memorize
-fill my brain with general knowledge
-household objects printed with reference information
-fun lists on wikipedia
-what reference documents are useful to have in my e-reader
-what are some useful historical dates to remember
-some good history mnemonics
-collections of reference info like the Dangerous Book for Boys, but for non-boys

To add to LobsterMitten's great list, this post on the "ultimate utility tattoo": Give me your clothes, your boots and your mathematical proofs.
Also, a handy chart to have if you go time traveling.

You should probably bring your own pen linked to Let's Say (for whatever reason) You're the First Human Ever to Make Alien Contact which is a very helpful cheat sheet.
