Taters Trivia Triumph

For the past 8 weeks, Boston/Cambridge area Mefites have been engaged in the Geeks Who Drink trivia tournament. On Monday Sept. 2 at approximately 10:30pm EST, the Hardcore Taters were crowned the evening's victors and the first place tournament champions, winning a prize of $300!

Teams were limited to 6 people, so we sometimes had a second team playing - they were the Softcore Spuds (or occasionally Side of Onion Rings).

I dropped into one of these a while ago and if I didn't know these folks had a life I would not have thought they had a life, I mean scary cognizant of an incredible wide variety of essential knowledge (to win at trivia).

Yay! Man, did I ever tell you guys about the (two) times I played with that tater team? Yeah, man, back in the day, before the tournament, before they were ANYBODY, I sat in and maybe consulted with them on an answer or two. I was THERE, man.

Sorry but I misread the "Geeks Who Drink trivia tournament" as "Geeks Who Drink drive tournament." Completely messed my brain up for a second.

Congrats to the Taters. Commiserations to the other groups who didn't win, but hey, taking part is what counts, right?
