My Ask (and other internal tabs) won't click refresh June 25, 2013 7:48 PM Subscribe
I had My Ask open for a while, and I went to refresh it by clicking the My Ask text link (like you can do with the Metafilter or AskMeFi text links at the top of the page). In this case, it put a hashtag at the end and did not refresh, and I had to do it by reloading the page with the browser button.
I realize refreshing via F5 or the browser button is easily done, but since I'm so used to doing it with other text links, I'd like to be able to do it with the text site-wide if possible.
I also went and tested other internal tab options. For instance, under Recent Activity, My Contacts will refresh over and over, but Recent Favorites won't.
I'm using Chrome Version 27.0.1453.110 m. I'm not sure if this is a Chrome issue or a MetaFilter issue.

Good lord, pb, you are as ridiculously prompt as advertised.
Hmm, then I'd like to change this from a Bugs post to a Feature Request post. I know where I am by the color change of the tab and the URL, and just find it inconsistent that I can't click refresh everything.

Sure, makes sense. I think worst case there would be a few extra clicks now and then, but I can't really see any other downsides.

I disable hash change on internal tabs. This may lead to more mouseclicks, but will ultimately result in greater consistency and clarity in UI behavior.
This is my design.
