Would it be possible to add the front page "xx new" comments to the "my activity" tab?

Right now the two options for jumping back into a thread via the "my activity" tab are whatever was your last comment was, or the last ten comments. Would it be possible to also provide the same way into the thread as the front page provides to show you new comments since your last site visit? (I know this is an approximation, but it's still helpful.)

I recognize this is perhaps only really an issue with a thread that has a lot of activity well after it has departed the front page, but would really help to pick up where you left off. Understood you can jump in at "last ten" and scroll your way up, but that could be quite a ways if it's been a day and it's a fast-moving thread.

Before we talk about UI, I'd say the xx new metric isn't very reliable (especially if you revisit the site often and it never resets) and is never perfectly accurate in the way the other two links are, so it's never going to perform as well as you want.

We also need to be able to bookmark pages without commenting them. Basically, something like Something Awful's recent activity, that lets you see how many posts have been made in a bookmarked thread since your last visit, then jump to the most recent comment.

That would be nice for sure. Strikes me as a big pony though.

Big pony but big improvement in my enjoyment of the site. It can be a pain figuring out where I stopped reading in a thread sometimes.

I don't use any of the addons. I use so many different devices to access the site it would get confusing trying to keep track of them.
