This was just a weird dream, right? I've done a search, but hazily remembered details from a dream don't always result in clear search terms. If it's just me, I'm sure I can't be the only one who wakes up with odd Metafilter dreams.
Last night I had a dream I was reading questions on AskMe. Someone in the north of Japan was looking for some kind of regionally appropriate covering for their cold head, and for whatever reason, hats weren't an option, so people were chiming in with other helpful suggestions. One of the answers included a link to a Japanese boy band performance where the lead singer put on some kind of elaborate headband that caused him to look like an anime character. I remember thinking the song was fairly bland J-pop fare, but the choreography and costumes were surprisingly cool, much sleeker and darker than I was expecting. It was like Game of Thrones meets androgynous Neo-Tokyo.
I'm about 80% sure this wasn't a real question, but it seemed oddly specific/real/plausible for something I would just make up. I kind of assume the dream is somehow connected to my AskMe search for a type of Japanese hat, but that was over a month ago and I was asking for hats while my dream OP was specifically avoiding hats, and then there's the music video. I don't really watch a lot of music videos and I very, very rarely listen to J-pop, but when I do, it's usually from Metafilter, so this may simply be a blip from the crazed recesses of my mind, but it also seemed like my brain might somehow be conflating two different things I saw either on the Blue or the Green. Does this sound even remotely familiar to anyone?

I'm pretty sure it wasn't that K-pop video; I don't think I'd ever seen it until now, but wow, my dream would've been way cooler if it had looked like that!

capricorn - THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THAT LINK. I missed this when it was posted and have fallen into a Kpop hole thanks to you.
